Board of Directors

Annual Report

Sam Lightowler
Director and Board chair

I have been a director at All Trans since 1996 and became the Board chair two years ago. I have held many positions at the TTC and now work in the Training Department. I first joined the credit union when I was 20 years old to buy my first car. The credit union was convenient, offered personal service, and was very friendly. The whole experience was so pleasant that I have been a member ever since! Where else can you actually be an owner of a financial institution? This is your credit union - let us know if you have any questions or thoughts to share.

Egbert Balthazar
Director

I have served on the Board for the past seven years. I enjoy the opportunity to learn and work with other Board and Management members in the service of others. I have been with the TTC since 1980, holding various positions within the Maintenance Department - Vehicle Repairperson on the Yonge/University, Bloor/Danforth and McCowan SRT lines, and other associated Carhouses. In my personal life, I am involved with the Air Cadets where I hold the position of 2nd/Liuetanant at 876 RCAC Squardron and have served as Chapter Chair of OACETT, Scarborough Chapter for the past several years.  I have a Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Centennial College, and have Certificates courses within the Canadian Armed Forces and the TTC.
Elaine Bell
Director

I currently work as the Administrative Assistant for the newly created Durham Region Transit.  I was first elected to the Board of Directors in 1999 and am now in my third term as a Director. Prior to assuming this role, I served as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager and Recording Secretary for the Board.  It was when I was employed at Gray Coach Lines, where I was a member of the Interurban Credit Union that my passion for the credit union started.  I look forward to learning and contributing as a Director on behalf of you, the member.
Brian Elcombe
Director

I feel extremely fortunate to have been part of a credit union for over 30 years. When I took a position on the Board, I knew it would give me an opportunity to repay the professionalism and friendliness that always has accompanied the Credit Union. I have been employed with CN (Canadian National Railway) for the last 33 years, and as the current president for CAW Local 4003, I have found the importance of having a strong and committed executive group who have the member’s best interests in mind and at heart. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the All Trans membership.
Diana Marcon
Director

I have been employed with the TTC as a Special Constable within the Special Constable’s Services Department for the part 7 years, and have been a member of the Credit Union just as long. I look forward to the opportunity to learn and work together with fellow Board Directors and all members.  I have achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Toronto. In my spare time I enjoy running, traveling, and very recently interior design and home renovations.
Ross Taylor
Director

I have enjoyed a long relationship with the credit union dating back to 1974 at the TTC.  I presently live in Newmarket with my wife, Mardi and our son, Sean.  I have been a board member for 13 years and have been the Chair of the Board twice for a total of 6 years. Being a part of the Board has given me the opportunity to meet many people. It provides me with a great sense of accomplishment and pride to be able to serve our members, and share a common vision with the other members of the board. I look forward to serving our membership in the future.
Wes Thomas
Director

It was not long after I started with the TTC in 1974 that I became a credit union member and for over 20 years I have been the credit union representative for Greenwood Shops. Now, as a director, I see how the experienced and dedicated staff make this credit union a success. Please explore how our various services can make your finances a success.
